About Jordan

Meet Jordan Coleman

Jordan Coleman, candidate for Hancock County Commissioner

I believe Hancock County deserves leadership that plans for the future without losing sight of the people who call this community home.

I'm running for Hancock County Commissioner because I want to help build a county where families can put down roots, small businesses can thrive, and future generations inherit a community that is both prosperous and thoughtfully planned. Growth is inevitable, but how we grow matters. I believe in protecting our quality of life through responsible development, walkable communities, clean and well-maintained public spaces, strong public safety, and infrastructure that supports both today's residents and tomorrow's opportunities.

Throughout my career, I have dedicated my life to serving people and solving complex challenges. As the Founder and CEO of A Seat At The Table, a nonprofit organization I launched in 2018, I have led initiatives that strengthen communities through leadership development, mental wellness, and civic engagement. Under my leadership, the organization has developed innovative programs, built strategic partnerships, secured six figures in grant funding and charitable support, and helped individuals overcome barriers so they can lead in their workplaces, families, and communities.

My professional experience extends beyond the nonprofit sector. I have worked in public affairs, philanthropy, community engagement, and organizational leadership, collaborating with corporate, nonprofit, and government partners to manage large-scale initiatives, develop strategic partnerships, oversee multimillion-dollar budgets, and deliver measurable results. These experiences have equipped me to make thoughtful, data-informed decisions while bringing people together around shared goals.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) and my Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Nonprofit Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University. My education, combined with years of executive leadership, has given me a deep understanding of public policy, organizational management, community development, and the importance of accountable leadership.

As Commissioner, I will bring the same leadership philosophy that has guided my career: listen first, collaborate often, and make decisions that improve the lives of the people we serve. I believe government should be transparent, fiscally responsible, and focused on creating communities where families, businesses, farmers, and neighborhoods can succeed together.

This campaign is about more than winning an election. It's about building a Hancock County where growth is intentional, our communities remain connected, and every resident has the opportunity to thrive.

Together, we can build a stronger future for Hancock County.
